Restorative Dentistry in Maryborough

Keeping our smile in tip-top shape as we move through the different stages of life can be done through restorative dentistry.

Though we may visit the dentist regularly for cleanings and check-ups as recommended, things can happen that are often out of our control. Cavities, broken or cracked teeth, injuries and accidents, and teeth replacement will likely be necessary at some point in your life, and we’re here to help!

Fillings

Fillings repair teeth that have been harmed by cavities. After removing the damaged portion of the tooth, the filling seals out bacteria and protects the tooth so that it can function normally.

Fillings can be made from composite (white) or amalgam (silver). White fillings are more aesthetically pleasing and generally less invasive. Silver fillings are useful for large cavities where cost is a concern.

Crowns

Dental crowns, or ‘caps’, as they’re sometimes called, fit over existing teeth to replace missing or damaged tooth structures, commonly used after root canal therapy.

Bridges

A dental bridge is made up of two crowns on either side of the missing tooth connected to an artificial tooth, called a pontic, in the middle.

Implants

Dental implants replace a missing tooth. The implant may consist of a titanium screw that attaches itself to the jawbone. Once the patient heals from the implant procedure, a crown is secured to the implant post.

Full and Partial Dentures

Partial dentures replace several missing teeth, whilst full dentures replace all your teeth. The artificial teeth are mounted to removable replacements that look and feel natural.
